Unique moments by Monika Koclajda

MY NAME IS MONIKA KOCLAJDA. I WAS BORN IN SOUTHERN POLAND IN EUROPE. I AM MOTHER OF TWO DAUGHTERS. I BECAME INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY A FEW YEARS AGO. I LOVE CHILDREN SINCE I CAN REMEMBER. I like to be in their company and watch their emotions and behavior. I do not even know when these two passions merged into one. It is really hard to say but i think ,that when my daughters were born this passion for children photography has become even stronger. Mainly I photograph children, their emotions, their reactions i try to capture the moments that are important for them..and for me as a mother.Once it is laughter and fun and sometimes sadness and tears.I like to create interesting, moody little stories and draw the viewer into it. My inspirations come from daily life but also from my memories.

I love simplicity and that is how I try to photograph..simple but with many emotions. Don’t know if i am successful in this but i really hope so. Children are the most important reason why i am still in photography. They are my whole world, my driving force, my love. They make me happy with the little things and they cause that I still have a child in me. Now every moment is precious for me, i wanna remember everything…they grow so fast. I like to shoot in BW i am just fall in love in this black and white tones. It speaks to me so loud and clearly.

Whenever i have the opportunity I try to shot with the ambient, natural light . There is nothing more beautiful. When I shot outdoor i try to avoid very harsh light. I like to work when the sun is really low,the light is golden and very soft. Such pictures are very pleasent to an eye. When the weather doesn’t allows us to go outside and when the the natural light in my home is insufficient i work with lamps….mainly with only one with the soft-box on it. I like the side light in portraits so i set the soft-box beside the model. Sometimes i also use a silver reflector on the other side to get rid of the deep shadows.
